Greetings!
I'm really pleased to welcome you to our site.
I hope you arrived here because of your desire to avoid the
scourge of spyware, viruses and other nasty threatening stuff while
you try to enjoy your online surfing activities.
The main purpose of our websites is to do just that -- keep you safe
from online predators.
Now that you are here, may we raise a few questions? No need to send
any answers to us, the questions are for you to answer to yourself,
because it's Your Online Security that you need to protect. The
questions are simply to prompt your thoughts on creating a safe
surfing environment for you, your family, and your friends.
1. How did you get here?
2. Have you found what you're looking for?
3. Were you looking for something specific?
4. Did you find it?
5. Are you here to learn how to protect your security
on the
Internet?
to Get easy to understand guidelines
and basic advice?
to Find and use inexpensive tools?
to Get very plain and simple facts
and help?
6. How much do you want to know about protecting your
safety?
7. Do you want guidance on using just the basics?
8. Would you like to be a 'Smarter and Safer" Internet user,
and not be taken in by Geek-Speak and splashy promotions?
The purpose of our "Internet Security
Awareness Campaign" is to help you answer all of those
questions with easy to understand quality information.
9. Are you among the "Ageless Internet Users", who might be
uncertain about what to do next ?
(Ageless in our book is the group from
toddler to forever)
Well then, here's the secret --
There is no secret nor mystery involved.
It simply starts with having 3 or 4 basic tools installed on your
computer.
1. A firewall
program
2. Anti-virus
program
3. Anti-spyware
software
4. Anti-Spam
program
All of these are available for FREE from many software providers.
Just having them is great, and it's the basic foundation to your
Internet Security efforts, but you need to keep them up-to-date.
The people who create these helpful programs make that fairly easy
to do.
10. See how easy it is?
OK, but where do you get these programs and how do you know which
ones to select?
Our "Internet Security Awareness Campaign"
answers those questions for you.
The
'Firewalls-and-Virus Protection" website is loaded with sources
of FREE security tools, definitions and discussions explaining
nearly all of the 'security' terms and basics you'll come across,
articles, and tips on protecting your Personal Identity from theft,
etc.
The FREE monthly
"Security Alert News Reporter" newsletter covers updates on
recent virus threats and how to remove them, available FREE eBooks
and Reports on Family and Child Safe websites, progress by various
authorities and organizations in removing and controlling SPAM
and Spyware, and much more.
The
"Security Alert Blog"* includes our timely updates and
comments, weekly and sometimes daily, on important trends, Security
Alerts, and generally helpful information and advice.
It also provides an opportunity for visitors to make comments,
ask questions and critique our postings.
* What's a Blog?
A Blog (web log)
is a quick and easy way to share timely
information (alerts, updated news, trends and developments,
answer questions, express opinions and exchange views).
The really valuable and outstanding features of blogging are
that it is interactive -- news, views and opinions are
exchanged in a timely manner. |
We encourage you to be a part of
our crusade to help your family, friends and associates be safe when
surfing the Internet.
Just guide them to the resources listed above that support our "Internet Security
Awareness Campaign".
(Some astute parents have used these resources as
learning assignments for their pre-teen and teen-age children)
By sharing your knowledge and experiences, we can all contribute to
minimizing the grief and frustration being dumped on us by the
malcontents and devious devils who write and distribute the evil spyware, viruses and other dangerous rubbish into our personal
computers.
Thanks in advance for your participation.
