HELP! I think we have a Virus.

Importance of a  Personal Firewall with High Speed Connections

Personal Firewall for your Vulnerable PC

A Product Review By David Taylor, Canada

Some time ago, firewalls became an indispensable tool to protect critical information on computer systems. That's because firewall technology has been perfected over the years due to overwhelming demand by corporate information technology (IT) staffs, which save companies millions of dollars every year by preventing corporate crime.

A firewall acts like a protective gateway that shields a private computer user or network of users from external threats, such as hackers and viruses. More recently, "personal firewalls" have been made to suit individual PC users too.

A firewall is especially important if you have a high-speed Internet connection

Hackers love to take over broadband machines because they can use them to spread spam even faster! So in short, if you don't have a firewall installed, then as soon as you connect to the Web (before you even start your browser or e-mail client) you are open to attack because some or all of your ports are open and unmonitored.

But if a personal firewall sits between your PC and the rest of the Internet, you will have an easy way to prevent personal identity and data theft and ensure peace of mind.

There are many good firewalls in the software shop, but the one that I’d like to recommend is Armor2net Personal Firewall, the one that I use.

This is why I like the program --

It really provides a lot of protection. Initially, I thought it was just like many other firewalls and spyware killers that don't show what's going on your computer. But I found that it did show details and it allowed me to control what's moving in and out of my computer, even WINDOWS PROGRAMS

It is very alert and protective.

What I mean is -- Armor2net shows the currently active connections and the details of these connections (Remote Address/Port, Local Application/Port, Protocol and Status). You can shut off any connection that you think is dangerous to your computer.

Armor2net has a traffic indicator that shows when traffic leaves or enters your computer and displays the total amount of ingoing and outgoing data. In this tab, you can add any site you wish to block to your ‘Banned Sites List’.

Armor2net Personal Firewall software provides a complete spectrum of Internet security and Internet privacy for computers. The program protects the computer from hackers, data thieves, and other Internet-based dangers.
Armor2net Personal Firewall is able to stop Internet pop-up ads, search your computer for spyware, and remove the spyware components safely.

In addition, it has an easy-to-use interface and is very intuitive. Unlike most other firewall programs, Armor2net is truly “intelligent”. In a word, the application is perfectly suited for home and office, for new users and those with greater experience.

Armor2net has a 30 day trial available that can be downloaded from their website... a good opportunity to see if it meets your needs for broader protection.
It could be what you have been looking for.
